Gold and currency rates: what to check
This page is an educational guide, not a live-rate board. We have not connected a verified data provider, so no current prices are displayed.
Currency exchange rates
When checking USD/PKR or another currency pair, compare the same date and provider type. A bank's cash buying rate, cash selling rate, card rate, and an online indicative rate may all differ.
For a real transaction, check the provider's final rate and fees before exchanging money.
Gold prices
Gold quotes depend on purity, unit, currency, and location. International spot gold is commonly quoted per troy ounce, while local jewellery markets may quote per tola or gram and include local premiums or making charges.
Do not compare two gold prices until you confirm the unit and purity are equivalent.
Oil and other commodities
Benchmark crude prices, local fuel prices, and retail pump prices are different measures. Taxes, transport, refining costs, currency changes, and policy decisions can affect the price paid by consumers.
Our rate-display checklist
- Show the source and a link to it.
- Include the date, time, and time zone.
- Label the currency and unit.
- Say whether the quote is indicative, delayed, buying, or selling.
- Explain that rates may change before a transaction is completed.
We will add current figures only after verifying a reliable source and its permission to reuse the data.
